Valuable ally
Water! Water! Water! This is what our skin and hair need, as we return rested but fully dehydrated from our summer holidays. The combination of sun, heat and sea significantly disrupts the pH and the protective hydrolipidic membrane of the epidermis, draining its precious moisture. We can easily understand it by watching our hair become dull and lifeless, while the skin pulls or itches us, as if begging us to quench our thirst. When this time of year comes, I bet all my money on a moisturizing beauty bomb!
Based on the most active hydrosols
The recipe of my favourite moisturizing beauty bomb is signed by Katerina Vasilatou, a cosmetic product innovation consultant. It is based on active hydrosols, which stand out for their moisturizing, soothing and softening action. Hydrosols are flower waters, produced from the distillate of plants and fruits, and contain their healing properties. Being water, their absorption by our body is even easier at the cellular level, which is the reason why I am especially fond of them.
My moisturizing beauty bomb is a wonderful spray with a distinctive fragrance, suitable for every hour of the day, that nourishes, moisturizes and rejuvenates face, body and hair. You can prepare it yourself at home with this DIY recipe, as long as you have these 5 ingredients:
Rose water: Perhaps the most famous beauty plant, since it has been used since the 4th century BC as a cosmetic. It is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, and has a strong moisturizing and toning effect. Thanks to its healing properties, it repairs the damage that the skin has suffered from exposure to UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays of the sun.
Grape water: It is the water distilled from fresh grape seeds and it stands out for its moisturizing, refreshing and soothing properties. It is rich in polyphenols and polysaccharides, repairs the effects of photoaging and helps the skin rejuvenation from oxidative stress.
Coconut Water: Coconut hydrosol nourishes and deeply moisturizes the skin, balances the pH levels of the skin and restores the vitality of the hair. Thanks to its rich content of antioxidants, zinc and selenium, it has a strong anti-aging effect.
Chamomile: Chamomile has calming, soothing and antiseptic properties. It relieves inflammation and irritation, has a healing effect, decongests the skin and gives shine to the hair.
Aloe Vera: It is nature's pre-eminent remedy for sensitive and dehydrated skin, as it is rich in vitamins A, C, E and B12, and contains 98% water. Aloe vera is famous for its healing, soothing and moisturizing properties and is the most suitable natural after-sun treatment for sunburn.
