A playful and bold mood dominates this season’s fashion scene for the style that will dominate the streets of the islands. Airy fabrics, colourful touches and combinations stored in our wardrobes from past seasons will be the name of the game for our summer outings this year. So let's see what we should be packing before we take off for this year's holiday!
- Disco 2000
Packing for this summer vacation is like travelling back in time and getting dressed for the summer of 2000. Skirts and dresses with asymmetries and ruffles, colourful one-shoulder tops, jeans or skirts with sequins, a wide tunic and scarves in the hair, velvet overalls, cargo pants with satin airy blouses or a white vest and of course halterneck monochrome or silk slip dresses with a matching pashmina for the cool evenings on the island! The fashion of 2000 returns to cheer us up and helps us relive our most carefree holidays!
- Bold in Transparency
Imagine leaving behind all the burdens of life and transforming ourselves into the most carefree version imaginable with an unwavering readiness to embrace the joys of life—that’s what the spirit of transparency is all about. Transparent coloured, monochrome or metallic dresses combined with swimsuits for our afternoon walks, worn with a pair of jeans or a mini dress from inside for a drink, as well as transparent skirts with fitted shorts from inside combined with silk blouses or a strapless top. These are the suggestions of new and bolder classic designers like Tom Ford for a promising summer!
- Knitted bond
Knitwear has come to stay, as for the second year it dominates the summer trends—like a relationship that persists against all odds. Crochet dresses, lightweight knitted tops or vests combined with shorts, oversized knitwear with large holes worn over silk slip dresses with gladiator sandals, or knitted swimwear that you can wear both on the beach and combine with a pareo skirt and a denim jacket for evening walks or on the beaches!
If you feel that some trend is not right for you, there is no need to worry. As I always say, ffashion suggests but does not dictate.
